About the Artist: Carrie Rheaume has lived in the lovely little town of Cambridge Vermont for 22 years. She’s currently finishing her degree at Northern Vermont University for a B.A in Media Arts, and painting things in her free time. Carrie is passionate about fonts, exploring the world, protected left turns and good cups of coffee. Her submission for “This is Vermont” is a watercolor piece of the view from her house in Cambridge, titled “This Is Why We Live Here.” That’s a phrase that she and her mother always say to each other as they express gratitude for the everyday beauty of Vermont’s come across! Carrie wants to help make the world a more beautiful place through paint splotches and brushstrokes. She hopes that her creation makes you smile; that’s something we should all do more of, especially while we still have teeth!
Carrie is a winner of Common Deer's 2020 call to artists for the "This is Vermont" print series, an anual art competion held by CD to celebrate Vermont based artists and our community.
