Elizabeth Emmeet absolutely loves to hike and explore Vermont in all seasons to stay deeply connected with the land. She often arrives at new epiphanies after months of deep thought, research, and prayer which is then visually represented. Hiking is a wonderfully reflective practice for her and “My Vermont” is a little print made to reminisce about the many journeys up and down Camel’s Hump. Although many people hike this mountain, her journeys have been her own. The mountain, Vermont, and Elizabeth therefore have a personal relationship full of warm nostalgic memories making Vermont feel like hers.
Elizabeth is a winner of Common Deer's 2019 call to artist for the "This is Vermont" print series, an anual art competion held by CD to celebrate Vermont based artists and our community.
